To protect staff and students from the spread of the highly contagious Delta variant of the coronavirus, West Ada School District is temporarily requiring all staff, students and visitors to wear masks - beginning Sept. 10- when in a classroom and/or when social distancing is not possible, thus suspending all mask opt outs.
Built in 1974, Lake Hazel Elementary is one of 32 elementary schools located within the West Ada School District boundaries. The district covers 384 square miles and we are located in the southwest portion of the area the district serves. We opened as an intermediate school with grades 3 through 5, however we now serve children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade.
In addition to our K-5 classes, our school also provides a computer lab, resource room, PBI program, and an Extended Resource room for the students. A portable building houses our music classrooms and the LHE Gifted and Talented Center. Library, counseling and nursing services are provided to our students as well.
At Lake Hazel Elementary, we have four main expectations. Lions demonstrate respect, responsibility, safety and kindness. We listen to, and follow directions from all teachers and duty personnel. The school expectations are in effect before, during and after school. Expectations are created and enforced to protect us and our friends.
We appreciate our outstanding students and the very diverse families we serve. The staff at Lake Hazel Elementary is dedicated to providing a safe and caring learning environment to help assure that all students learn and grow. We are proud of the progress we have made in helping our students increase their achievement. We work together to plan instruction and continuously improve what we do. We welcome you to our school and encourage you to become actively involved in the education of our students.
