Degrees and Certifications:

B.S. Agricultural Education and Exceptional Child Certificate

Mrs. Becky Turner

I was born and raised in Visalia, CA.  I earned a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Education and later returned to school to obtain my Special Education endorsement.  I have taught Special Education students for over 28 years in California, Utah and Idaho.  This is my 10th year at Meridian High School where I work in the Extended Resource classroom to engage my students in functional educational learning that will lead them to be as independent as possible as they reach adulthood.

I teach Life Skills Math and Study Center.  We work in a more traditional classroom setup in order to prepare students for mainstreaming into the general education setting for both core (Science and History) and elective courses.  We have an excellent staff of paraprofessionals who are assigned to support students in both my classroom and the general education settings.  My students are also exposed to community job training opportunities on and off campus and are in charge of keeping the concession stands stocked and ready for business for sporting events here on campus.

When I'm not at school, my husband and I are involved in many church activities.  In the fall, I spend my Saturdays watching college football.  I never miss a Notre Dame game.  Go Irish!  Together we have 4 children and 11 beautiful grandchildren in 4 states that we try to visit as often as possible.  My hobbies are walking and baking.
