Ms. Kim Hollingsworth
Hello! I have worked for the West Ada School District for 17+ years at Mary McPherson Elementary. This will be my 17th year as the Computer Lab Instructor and I absolutely love having the opportunity to work with all of the students at MME and teaching them computer skills. This year will be a little more challenging with Covid-19 guidelines for safety, but I'm sure we will still achieve our goals.
I was born and raised in Boise, Idaho and have lived in Idaho my whole life. I worked almost 20 years for Hewlett-Packard and gained most of my technology skills/knowledge during that time. I have three children, my oldest daughter, Mandy, lives in Washington. My son, Kristophor and my youngest daughter, Madison, live in Boise. I have three grandchildren too, Victoria, Elizabeth and Wyatt. I have a little Schnauzer named "Myah" and 2 cats, "Prim" and "Binx".
When I am not working, I love spending time with my family, camping, reading and of course learning new technology.
Students come to the lab once a week for 1/2 hr. In addition to learning how to use a computer, computer terminology, Digital Citizenship, how to save files, Teams and accessing their One Drive; student activities may include:
• Type to Learn Keyboarding
• Microsoft Office Word
• Microsoft PowerPoint
• Research
• Coding activities
• MAP/Standardized Testing
Teachers also bring their class for additional computer lab time to complete/publish writing projects, do research and take tests.
I look forward to another fantastic year! Please email me with any questions or comments!!
