 1st Grade Families!
I am so thrilled to be your child's teacher!  We are going to have a BUSY and successful year in Room 3.  Moving from 3rd grade to 1st is so exciting for me, because the majority of my teaching experience has been in the 1st grade.  I have a passion for literacy, and value being able to develop a strong foundation in young students!  I feel like I already know many of my amazing 1st graders, since the 3rd grade and Kindergarten classrooms are right next door to each other at EESA!  Many of us have already met!
A little about me:  I have been a parent at Eagle Elementary School for 5 years and a teacher here for 3 years.  My daughter Josie attends EESA in 5th grade, and my son Jack is in 7th grade at Eagle Middle School.  My family and I love to hike, bike, play sports, watch sports and ski!  I love to run and attend yoga classes.  A healthy teacher is a HAPPY teacher!
I have 12 years of teaching experience in 1-3rd grades in the state of Washington (Seattle), Texas (Dallas), and Idaho.  I took a break from teaching when Jack and Josie were babies and worked for 4 years for Learning A-Z (ever heard of RAZ-Kids?) managing their professional development department and training teachers all over the USA.   I really missed the classroom and am SO HAPPY to be back!
We are going to have a fabulous year!  I look forward to partnering with you and watching your child succeed!
