Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Ferrell

Welcome to the  ELCI (English Language and Cultural Immersion).  I teach English as a second language to children from all over the world.   I received my degree in Multicultural/Multilingual Education from Arizona State University in 2006.  I immediately began teaching English as a Second Language in the Phoenix inner city.  In 2008 I  returned to Arizona State University and received my Masters in English as a Second Language/Biliteracy.

Currently, I teach English as a second language in the ELCI (English Language and Cultural Immersion) program at Lewis and Clark Middle School.  This is my second year in this program.  I feel blessed to have children from all of the world who are so dedicated to learning.    I also teach EDU 230 (Cultural Diversity) courses for Mesa Community college, educating future teachers on culturally relevant teaching/pedagogy and cultural/linguistic acceptance in a diverse world/classroom.  I am a teacher, a mother, an advocate and I believe that even a small amount of compassion from every single individual can change the world in great ways.   Every child is capable of success.

I am looking forward to a great year with your children.  Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns.

Sincerely, R. Ferrell
