Degrees and Certifications:
I am a proud graduate of Boise State. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a Literacy Endorsement in 2014. In the summer of 2018, I reached my goal of earning my Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction.
Miss Lisa Strader
My name is Lisa Strader, and I am happy to introduce myself as a fifth grade teacher at Chief Joseph School of the Arts. One of the most important things you should know about me is...I love teaching!!! Teaching is my true passion. Along with teaching comes the reason we all come together--learning! I truly enjoy seeing students learn, hearing them dive into deep discussions, and seeing them help others learn as well. Every year I learn from my students to make me a stronger teacher for the years to come.
Before becoming a certified teacher, my experience revolved around teaching in various ways. I taught martial arts from the time I was old enough to have a job until I graduated from Boise State. Teaching martial arts introduced me to my passion of helping others reach their goals. I also tutored math at Boise State for two years, and tutored reading privately. This is my third year at Chief Joseph, and my fifth year of teaching. All of my teaching experience so far has been in fifth grade. I love the level of complexity we reach in fifth grade and the excitement that comes from the last year of elementary school. My goal is to help my students become lifelong learners, and to prepare them for middle school and beyond!
I am so excited for the many things our class will do this year. To make every year successful, communication is vital. I love to use the analogy of a three-legged stool to symbolize why our communication is so important. The students, their families, and teachers represent the three legs of the stool. Without one, the stool doesn't stand up to support learning. Please never hesitate to contact me if you ever have questions about your child's learning. Let's work together to make this year fantastic!
