Summer Basketball Plans

Parents and Players:

I am excited to get back into the gym, I miss the energy, spirit and enthusiasm that you all bring to the gym.  The SIC and its schools have come up with a re-introduction plan.  Based on that information I have created a tentative basketball schedule for the month of June to help us get back to “normal”  As more and more information presents itself on what the future may hold, this plan may change.  I have created a tentative plan that will hopefully give everyone a little direction during the month of June.

 June 3 thru 12

8 to10 am June 3, 5, 8, 10 and 12. We will do shooting drills (3 players per basket) during these 2 weeks. The groupings will remain together throughout the summer – meaning each group will remain together to limit large group contact by mixing in between other groups. This will allow players to get back in our gym and re-acclimate themselves with their teammates and coaches.

June 15 thru 26

8 to 10 am June 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25 and 26.  We will do shooting drills (5 players per basket) during these 2 weeks. This will allow players and coaches to gain a better understanding about ability and expectations for the remainder of Summer and next Winter.

 June 26

This will conclude our summer activities.  I want to respect the travel basketball, volleyball, softball, and vacation plans for all families (fingers crossed for those activities).  As I did last summer, we will schedule small group workouts to work on individual skill development.

 Camps

If allowed, we have scheduled camps for the lower levels (incoming grades 3-8) during the week of July 6 to 10.

Of course, this tentative schedule is subject to change based on state and southwest district health guidelines and policies. I have asked for more direction relative to requirements for masking, sanitation requirements, etc – so as I know more about what each player might require for participation, I will let you know.

Rocky Girls Basketball will continue to update our website and Instagram (@rockygirlsbasketball) regarding details and changes throughout the Summer. We are dealing with this unique situation as best we can and it is definitely not what we had envisioned coming into the Summer. As you know everything is subject to change at a moments notice and your continued patience and positive support is greatly appreciated.
