My name is Derek Wilber and I am a 5th grade teacher at Mary McPherson Elementary School.  I have been a teacher for 16 years and have taught in Michigan, Arizona and Idaho.  It is great being back in a 5th grade class since I have taught this grade level for 12 years already.  I graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and have since taken other classes in order to get my EL and Math endorsements.  I look forward to coming to school each day and working at our wonderful school.     

Since moving to Idaho four years ago, my family and I have enjoyed many outdoor activities Idaho has to offer between traveling, camping, hiking, and biking.  Currently, my son is on a baseball team that has the opportunity to travel and so we are enjoying getting to know new team members and getting a chance to play some games in other states.  In some of my free time, I enjoy wood working, golfing, landscaping, and just getting a chance to be outside.
