FAQ

  • What is The Scribe?
The Scribe is the writing center of Renaissance High School. We don't just do paper editing and proofreading – we're more than that. We consider ourselves tutors, here to guide you through the writing process.

Do I have to have a draft at my consultation?
Of course not! We will help you in any stage of your writing process, from brainstorming to polishing your final draft.  Of course, if you've started writing, bring what you have.

Do I have to make an appointment?
We recommend that you make an appointment, as those with appointments are served first. However, walk-ins are welcome.

Does The Scribe help with papers in foreign languages?
It's not our specialty. The Language Lounge can help with papers in Spanish, Arabic and Mandarin.

Does the writing have to be for an assignment?
No. Our consultants love to work on any writing. If you have a poem, short story, personal piece, application, or piece of professional writing, feel free to bring them in and our consultants will help you with any concerns you may have.

I am a good writer. Why should I bring my work to The Scribe?
All writers can benefit from a collaborative writing process. When we write our own work and become attached to a paper, it can be difficult to see areas that may need improvement. The Scribe's consultants can provide a fresh set of eyes and a new perspective that can help make even the best paper better.

What should I do if I can't make my appointment?
Make sure to go on MyWConline and cancel your appointment, so we know you won't be coming in.

How do I get my proof of consultation (client report form)?
When your consultant completes their client report form, it will be emailed to your school email, and that will serve as your proof of consultation.

What do I do if I'm blocked from the system/can't log in?
Contact the directors of the Scribe (Ms. Schneiderman & Ms. Bryant) or a current manager.
