I return to Desert Sage Monday through Friday to assist you, and the students, with any social/emotional concerns, and provide assistance with community resources for food, clothing, mental health and homeless referrals as always. I am a mother of two--a 3 1/2 year old boy and a 19 mos. old girl. I appreciate the other trusted adults in their lives who advocate for their welfare when my husband and I are not able to be by their sides during the day. As your child's school counselor, I will advocate for your child and his/her needs duing the school day.
I am a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, Washington, where I received a B.A. in English with an emphasis in creative writing. From 1997 to 1999 I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer teaching English as a foreign language to high school students in Latvia, Eastern Europe. That experience inspired me to become a school counselor. I went on to pursue my master's in counseling from Boise State University, graduating in 2004. I also carry my professional license in counseling (Licensed Professional Counselor--L.P.C.)
I have been working as a school counselor for 14 years--12 of those I have had the pleasure to serve at Desert Sage Elementary.
