Artists in Residency is a very special opportunity for our students. In 2012-2013 school year Mrs. Wydick received a grant through Idaho Commission on the Arts for $1,500.00 and a Jeker Grant for $5,000.00 (which a portion supported these Artists in Residencies) for 2nd and 3rd grade. These grades trained with professional dancers, LiAnne Hunt and Rachel Swensen. They taught them with an interdisciplinary curriculum by using dance, literature, poetry, and the visual arts. They created a dance performance with visual art displays and poetry reading. The poetry and visual arts are pictured but in accordance with laws we are not able to show pictures of the students with costumes or students in the dance performance. We look forward to applying for this grant or another grant this year and giving this opportunity again to our students to work with professional musicians, artists, dancers or writers.
