Idaho Elementary P.E. Standards

Priority Standard Movement Knowledge

  •  Kindergarten: Identify and apply critical cues and concepts of body, space, effort, time, and relationships that vary the quality of movement (e.g., side to target, move in personal space, throw hard for distance, name different pathways). (K-2.PE.2.1.2) Proper cues for start-stop, and static balance.  

    1st Grade: Identify and apply critical cues and concepts of body, space, effort, time, and relationships that vary the quality of movement (e.g., side to target, move in personal space, throw hard for distance, name different pathways). (K-2.PE.2.1.2) Proper cues for Hopping, Galloping, Sliding, Static balance

    2nd Grade:  Identify and apply critical cues and concepts of body, space, effort, time, and relationships that vary the quality of movement (e.g., side to target, move in personal space, throw hard for distance, name different pathways). (K-2.PE.2.1.2 Identify cues for skipping, jumping and landing, overhand throwing (emerging), catching with hands

    3rd Grade:  Apply fundamental, non-locomotor, locomotor, and manipulative skills in dynamic and complex movements (e.g., leadup games, dance, and educational gymnastics). (3-5.PE.1.1.1) Jump rope, underhand throwing, and kicking

    4th Grade:  Apply fundamental, non-locomotor, locomotor, and manipulative skills in dynamic and complex movements (e.g., leadup games, dance, and educational gymnastics). (3-5.PE.1.1.1) Identify cues for catching with hands, jumping rope, and dribbling with hands.

    5th Grade: Demonstrate knowledge of critical cues and simple biomechanical principles to provide feedback to self and others (e.g., speed, agility, effort, opposition, balance, follow through, self and peer checklist). (3-5.PE.2.1.1) Demonstrate knowledge of cues for overhand throwing, dribbling with hands, and static balance
