RtI is a general education model for all students; it is not a separate entity but a part of every program and process at your school. RtI processes are included in both academic and behavior programs. This includes general education, gifted education, Title I, ELL, and special education.
RtI is not an instructional program, a curriculum, or an intervention. It is a commitment to use a logical, decision-making framework to guide instruction. Our goal is to assure high levels of learning for all students using a three-tier model of school support. Tier 1 is the core program, Tier 2 incorporates supplemental interventions, and Tier 3 involves intensive interventions.
