Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Krista Arterbury

Hello! Welcome to Kindergarten!

My name is Krista Arterbury. I was born and raised in Edinburg, Texas where the citrus groves are plentiful and the beach is just a car ride away. I graduated from the University of Texas in 2010 and began teaching in 2013. My husband and I moved to Boise in 2014 to be closer to our family. We have 3 daughters together, 19,16 and 1!

If you have questions, you can email me at, I will be checking email, pretty much everyday!

  • I'm afraid my student won't get the learning she needs in only half day...

    Posted by:

That is a valid and VERY common concern! I don't call it half day, I call it condensed day. While we do have less time, we use it to our full advantage. We learn our CORE reading, phonics and math while incorporating science and social studies. We get a double dose of reading and writing everyday, including small groups. Our AM PM kiddos are very ready for 1st grade come May!

  • Is there lunch in AM/PM?

    Posted by:

No we do not have a lunch time like the other classes. Students are encouraged to eat a nice, hearty breakfast or lunch before coming to class!

  • Is there anything else we need that is not on the supply list?

    Posted by:

No, all you need is on that list. I would encourage you to buy zipper toolbags instead of the plastic pencil boxes; they last longer, close easier and don't fall over as often.

I would also encourage you to not buy the tiny ear-bud, inside-the-ear headphones. Headphones that go over your child's ear are far more comfortable AND are much more durable.

Folder with build in brads are ideal for kindergarten.

    Again, these are just suggestions!

Please PUT YOUR CHILD'S NAME on the following supplies...

    Crayon box

    Marker boxer

    Toolbags/Pencil box

Backpack (on the inside, so your child's name isn't visible to strangers)

*Jackets, sweaters, any clothing that can be removed due to weather should have your child's name on the inside to prevent it getting lost or mixed up with another child's clothing.

**School List says wide-ruled paper, this is NOT NEEDED.

Hand sanitizer, facial tissue and batteries are optional, but always appreciated!

During Meet the Teacher we will have a donation sign up, if you would like to get a head start and donate other items to our classroom, there is a list below and it is greatly appreciated and carefully used, but of course optional!

    Magic Erasers (cleaning products)

    Hand Soap

Plastic Zip Bags (any and all sizes appreciated)

Paper plates and cups (We use these for activities all the time!)

Paper bags (brown or white, any size)

Stickers or party prizes for Treasure Box (kids love party bubbles and fun erasers!)
