Reading and Books
Reading brings the world to our students! Through hearing stories, children are exposed to a rich and wide vocabulary. This helps them build their own vocabulary and improve their understanding when they listen, which is vital as they start to read. It is important for them to understand how stories work as well.Reading helps expose students to new things and new ideas, gain experience from other people and helps you learn to write better. Reading is a vital part of educating our students.Keeping libraries and classroom libraries up to date in our schools is a priority. Digital and print books are both vital to our schools. Teachers also need classroom sets of books and classroom libraries.Help by donating! Each year in an effort to support an integrated approach to literacy, the West Ada English and Language Arts department coordinates different book projects.Help by donating to a classroom library!Donate to a teacher and help fill up their classroom libraryHelp by donating to a school library!Donate to a school library!
