• Small Lunch Groups

     

    I will be offering the following small lunch groups this year: 

     

    Angry Birds: This group will explore strategies to deal with angry feelings in a positive, healthy way. Students will explore the triggers of their anger, recognize body cues, & learn coping skills for anger management.

     

    Changing Families: This group will focus on supporting students with changing family dynamics - divorce, adoption, new siblings, deployment, &/or incarceration.

     

    Confident Kids (NEW!): This group will focus on building resiliency & self-esteem. Students will learn about self-image, growth mindset, coping skills, & positive affirmations.

     

    Friendship: This group will focus on social skills - inclusive thinking, empathy, positive peer interactions, listening, problem-solving, kindness, & making/keeping friends.

     

    Grief (NEW!): This group will focus on supporting students who have experienced the loss of a family member, friend, or pet.

     

    Middle School Savvy: This group is for 5th grade students only. Students will focus on middle school transition activities - mastering combination locks, reviewing daily schedules, organization, study skills, working with planners, & discussion with a guest speaker (middle school teacher/counselor).

     

    School Success: This group will focus on strengthening social & study skills needed for success at school. Students will learn about following directions, listening, organizational skills, positive attitudes, & problem-solving.

     

    Stress Stompers: This group will explore strategies to deal with worries, anxiety, & stress in a positive, healthy way. Students will explore the triggers of their stress, body signals, positive attitudes, goal-setting, & coping skills.
