    Unit Overview:

    Third graders will have the opportunity to use specific test materials to identify four common nutrients: starch, glucose, fat, and protein, which are found in a variety of foods. Working in partnerships, student scientists will set-up lab materials, make predictions, perform lab tests, make observations, record data, analyze test results, and draw conclusions. In addition, students will read about each of the nutrients to better understand the important role they play in keeping our bodies healthy.
