My name is Jessica Swygart and I teach American Sign Language 1, American Sign Language 2, and ASL Club Advisor for Eagle High. I am looking forward to an exciting and productive year with your child.
This is my eighth year as a teacher at Eagle High School. I started working in Education in 2003 working with Deaf students interpreting, and then working as PSR Specialist for ED students. My dream job came open, and I jumped at the chance to work here at Eagle High with the American Sign Language program.
I started signing when I was four years old, and continued through school. I graduated high school with two years of ASL, and went on to college at Boise State. While at BSU I took beginning and intermediate sign, then I transferred to Idaho State University to start my degree as an Interpreter for the Deaf. While at ISU I took ASL 1, 2, 3, 4, and Deaf culture. I finished my degree online, while raising my family, through Ashford University with honors with BA in Education. I graduate in May of 2015 with Major in ASL, and Minor in Psychology with honors from LCSC.
I am married to wonderful teacher/coach at Middleton High School named Bryan, and we have three children, Treyton-14, Taylie-12, and Tayson-7. We love being teacher's shaping great minds, and helping develop the leaders of the future. We also enjoy spending all summer with our children traveling and exploring new places. I am currently a busy sports mom, and love traveling around with my kids sports. My husband and I open club 44 Baseball/Softball Academy indoor hitting facility at our place in Middleton, and we our so excitied to see how fast it took off. In my free time, I love to cook, work on our new house in Middleton, workout, and second hand shop for a great buy.
My door is always open, and love hearing from parents. Please feel free to contact me through email, or school phone number.
