Welcome to MHS Career and College Center

  • A message to Warrior students and families from your college and career counselor:

    Dear Students and Parents,

During this time of remote learning and resources, I wanted to let you know, I'm still here for you!
I miss our wonderful students and am available to check in with students and offer  help and support during this unprecedented time. I am available via email, Microsoft Teams calls, or phone calls to assist students and parents during our normal school hours of 7:30 - 3:30, Monday - Friday.  I will continue to provide the same services as they have previously but though the virtual setting or through online resources.  Whether face-to-face or virtually, counselors are legally required to break confidentiality when they hear a student is: hurting themselves, hurting others, someone is hurting them, or illegal activity.

Here are just a few ways I can help while working remotely:

    • Transcript requests (colleges/scholarships)
    • College applications / “intent to enroll”
    • Career and college planning/advising
    • Fast Forward Funding help/questions
    • FAFSA completion
    • Concurrent Credit information
    • Scholarship Search
    • Military Questions
    Where to find resources:
    • MHS college and career website (I'm making it my goal to make this more user friendly and keep it undated)
    • Naviance for transcripts, career planning, and scholarship searches
    • MHS counselor website
    • Scholarship websites (see my website for a list of resources)
    • Websites of college and universities/College admissions reps
    • Through me directly; Goddard.chelsi@westada.org
We will all get through this together! I can't wait to see you all as soon as safely possible. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me. #Warriorstrong.

I highly recommend that students take advantage of Idaho Career Information System.  CIS provides the opportunity to explore hundreds of occupations and education and training programs. It also offers an exploration component where students can use various assessments related to occupations, schools, financial aid/scholarships and skills.
There are many scholarship websites to start exploring even as early as your freshmen year! A few of the most used scholarship websites include Big Future by College Board https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/pay-for-college/grants-scholarships  Next Steps Idaho https://nextsteps.idaho.gov/resources/scholarship-search-101/ and Student Scholarships https://studentscholarships.org/
Please feel free to email with any questions.
