  • Suggested Supplies for our Class for 2019-2020

Posted by BECKY SPARKS on 7/1/2019

In our classroom, students use the supplies that they bring to school.  Supplies that will be used daily will be kept in their desk and supplies that are used occasionally will be kept in their cubby.  There are one or two supplies that will be kept in a bin and need to be labled with the student's name.

Listed below is the district's supply list for first grade.  I have included my preference (in italics), but that is not required, simply what I think works best.  Special items such as glitter glue, themed pencils, etc are best left at home for use on homework.

It is recommended for all grade levels:  backpack, facial tissue, hand sanitizer, pencil box, AA batteries

    1. #2 pencils, sharpened (24 Ticonderoga)
    2. Water color paints (8 color Prang or CrayolaNeeds labeled
    3. Crayons (3 boxes of 24, Crayola)
    4. Scissors (Fiskar - without scissor lid - it just gets lost or played with)
    5. Ear buds or headphones, whichever your child is more comortable wearing
    6. Large pink eraser (2 Pink Pearl)
    7. Large glue sticks (6, can be large or small)
    8. White school glue ( 1 Elmers)
    9. 2 pocket folder.......??
    10. Highlighter (2)
    11. composition notebook (single subject 70 - 100 pages) (2)
    12. dry erase markers

    *multi-color markers

    *colored pencils

    **wide ruled paper

    **AA batteries

    ** pencil box

    **hand sanitizer

*stored in cubby; will be used occasionally

**Not needed in my classroom (I either have some already or don't need them).

I will have additional supplies needed for the classroom on star wishes by the classroom door.  Examples of some of those wishes are:  Stickers, Galon-size baggies, Quart-size baggies, Disenfecting wipes, and Baby wipes.
