This course emphasizes making mathematics applicable to real-life situations and scenarios. Topics such as direct and inverse variation, data analysis, matrices, and functions will be addressed in practical settings and help give meaning to these abstract topics. This course is designed for students who want additional practice and understanding of Algebra I and Geometry topics and an introduction to Algebra II topics. A graphing calculator is recommended. Only Math Modeling B is an approved NCAA course.
Homework checks 10%. There will not be retakes on the homework but the scores will be replaced with original test score if that is better.
Assessments 75%. Students can do 2 retakes but they must be done before the next unit test.
