• Homework Information

Homework will be sent home weekly.  Students will take their homework home on Fridays and will need to return it no later than the following Friday.
Homework to be returned will consist of...
    1. Math Review Page
    2. Fluency/Comprehension Sheet- Students will read each night and keep track of fluency. (Time for one minute - 3 times to work to improve fluency rate.) Discussion questions should be verbally completed with an adult when possible -- They do NOT needs to be written down.
    3. Spelling Practice - Students will get their new spelling word sort/list with thier homework on Fridays.  The test on their words will be the following Friday.
    4. Multiplication Facts!! - Students should be practicing thier multiplication facts at home regularly.  Even 5-10 minutes per night helps tremendously!  They are currently working on their personal multiplication ladders to earn parts of a movie celebration later in the spring.  Each student should know exactly which facts they are currently testing on and those are the ones they should focus on the most each night.
    5. Reading for pleasure - This can be from a picture book, chapter book, magazine, newspaper, reading directions, etc.  Students can read independently, out loud, or can be read to.  They should aim for at least 15 minutes, for a minumum of 4 days out of the week.  (Equivalent of 1 hour per week)  The more they can read -- the better their reading skills will be!
Students will not be penalized for not having homework completed.  However, students will be rewarded for completing all activities and turning homework in on time with both economy dollars/Explorer tickets... and most importantly the success that the extra practice gives them in their school work.
