Ms. Roberts

Hello, and welcome to 8th grade English!

This is my second year here at EMS, and this year I will be teaching four regular English 8 classes and two Honors English 8 classes.

I have been in education for over 22 years and have taught in private, public, and alternative classrooms, grades 6th through 9th in Twin Falls, Idaho. I graduated with my K-8 Bachelor of Science, with K-12 Literacy, degree from Idaho State University and received my master's degree in Literacy from Boise State University. Prior to coming to EMS, I was the English Language Arts/Literacy Coordinator for the Idaho State Department of Education and am now very excited to be back in the classroom working with students.

I will be updating our classroom calendar regularly, so please check back to see assignments and due dates. If you see assignments for our English 8 classes missing, that you know should be there, please check on Mrs. Baun's site to see if they can be located there as we are working together on all our work this year.

English 8 is designed to enhance students' skills in reading, writing, communication, language usage, and speech. Students will read a variety of text from our new Literature book, engage in learning vocabulary, spelling, and grammar concepts.

Honors English 8 is designed to help students' work towards a more accelerated level of understanding of the English 8 classroom. we will be enhancing students' skills in reading, writing, communication, language usages, and speech. Students will read a variety of text from our Literature book, engage in learning vocabulary, spelling, and grammar concepts. This class DOES NOT count as a High School credit. It is an extension class, working at an accelerated level of understanding, beyond the English 8 classroom.

For both classes, assignments will normally be found in the calendar as well as in the titled class link. Please note that regular daily review or warm up work, that we do as a class, may not appear in either location. If students are absent for any classes, I will do my best to make sure I work with them on the work we covered in class, but it is their responsibility to get their missed assignments and reach out to me if they have any questions.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
