Degrees and Certifications:
BA in Liberal Arts MA in Curriculum and Instruction with School Administration
What a privilege it is to work with your children at Christine Donnell School of the Arts! This is my fifth year at CDSA, and I am so proud of the work that the staff does every day to help students grow. CDSA is a West Ada School District public School of Choice. We work with the same students, calendar, and curriculum that our other schools do—with a two-part twist:
1. We use an arts-integrated approach to learning, and
2. We have parents and community members who are supportive and committed to the work that goes on at our school.
This two-part twist is integral to our Mission and Vision statements, summarized as, “We are an innovative community of learners committed to growing together through the arts.”
I started school where my dad was my principal. As you can imagine, there were no secrets! I earned a BA in Liberal Arts and an MA in Curriculum and Instruction with School Administration, taught in the classroom for 26 years, and worked as an assistant principal before coming to CDSA in 2014.
As a kid, I loved riding bikes, horses, and dirt bikes. I also was—and am—a voracious reader and an amateur musician, with training in piano, flute, and voice. I enjoy swimming and hiking, trying new restaurants, visiting the beach, and spending time with family.
My husband and I have three children and one grandchild. In addition to raising kids, we’ve also hosted lots of animals, including reptiles, fish, birds, and mammals both large and small.
