Meridian Middle Ski and Snowboard Club General Information
Do a snow dance, and let’s get on the mountain!
The club is a part of the Bogus Basin Junior High School Race Program. Most of the middle schools in Boise, Meridian, and surrounding area participate in this program. The goal of the club is to encourage participation and friendly competition and, of course, to get people up on the mountain!
Members are responsible for their own equipment (Bogus is giving on a first come, first serve basis 4 packages for the season) and transportation to the mountain (there is a bus that leaves from Mountain View high school, $5 a ride). Membership dues are $10 per year, in cash, and due to the club advisor Mrs. Reed. (Dues cover the schools' cost to participate and a bus to the mountain for Dotty Clark if necessary.) Registration is online through Bogus, and needs to be done Friday, December 13th. Late forms can be accepted, but you cannot race without them turned in.

Members of the club participate in AT LEAST 3 of the six Saturday races. Race times for the variety of competition are at 10:30 (Snowboard Expert), 11:30 (Cross Country/Nordic and Freestyle), and 1:30 (All other races), and are held just below the Pioneer Lodge on the Bitterroot Chair trails. Please check the race schedule. Students may race at their own level of experience, (beginner, intermediate, or advanced or expert) on either skis or snowboards.
Participation in at least 3 of the races will result in eligibility for the Dotty Clark championships, held February 21. This will be an unexcused absence from school, and students will still be responsible for work missed. Again, students will be responsible for their own transportation to the mountain, unless there are enough to warrant a bus.
Race Dates are as follows: January 11
