Meridian Middle Ski and Snowboard Club General Information
The club is a part of the Bogus Basin Junior High School Race Program. Most of the middle schools in Boise, Meridian, and surrounding area participate in this program. The goal of the club is to encourage participation and friendly competition and, of course, to get people up on the mountain!
Members are responsible for their own equipment and transportation to the mountain. Membership dues are $20 per year, in cash, (checks when account is established), and due to the club advisor Mrs. Reed. (Dues cover the schools cost to participate.) Please turn forms in by Friday, December 7th. Late forms can be accepted, but you cannot race without them turned in.
Members of the club participate in AT LEAST 3 of the six Saturday races. (The first was canceled due to conditions. If any more cancel, 2 will become the requirement.) Race times for the variety of competition are at 10:30, 11:30, and 1:30, and are held just below the Pioneer Lodge on the Bitterroot Chair trails. Please check the race schedule. Students may race at their own level of experience, (beginner, intermediate, or advanced) on either skis or snowboards.
Participation in at least 3 of the races will result in eligibility for the Dotty Clark championships, held February 22. This will be an unexcused absence from school, and students will still be responsible for work missed. Again, students will be responsible for their own transportation to the mountain, unless there are enough to warrant a bus.
Do a snow dance, and let’s get on the mountain!
