Unit I Day #2... THURSDAY 1/23 & FRIDAY 1/24
We started our new off the tees and in the holes which you can access specifically on the website under that tab. They will be listed under the dates that they are used for A-day and B-day.
This lesson is a continueation of what we did on day 1 with regard to watching video segments of John Adams, letcure notes from the powerpoint, video clips of Hamilton and specific songs that are noted on the worksheet.
You will also be responsible for doing the readings that are listed on the worksheets.

You will want to check out a DVD from me in order watch the John Adams Segments that are listed in the worksheet.

Unit I Day #3
Today we looked at the events that fianlized George Washington's presidency and the changing of the guard when John adams wins the close election of 1796. You will need to follow the lecture material with your page three of the packet after Day #4 is posted, which is when the full lecture will be up loaded. Until then listen to the Hamilton song below and watch the scenes from John Adams (get a copy from me) if you were unable to be in class today.
We started the film segments of John Adams right at the part where the Jay Treaty is being accepted and endorsed by the Senate vote and when G. Washington starts to feel unpopular. We stopped the film right before John Adams and Thomas Jefferson discuss the merits of the Alien & Sedition Act at a dinner table.
We will complete the film and John Adams presidency the next class.

Today we wrapped up the story of John Adams Presidency along with the notes and video from page 3 of the packet.
You will want to finish the John Adams film and listen to the lecture to complete the steps required for finalizing all of the information that covers John Adams and the transition into the Jeffersonian Era of 1800.
We started the reading of Thomas Jefferson's Presidency on Friday for A day and I have included below the reading segments and information required for completing the MIND MAP of TJ's presidency.

We covered the end of John Adams and all of Thomas Jefferson presidencies.
You will want to use the pages below to complete the unit. We have a reading and video segments along with the powerpoint lectures to fill in your notes.
The Lewis and Clark project was introduced and the requirements are listed here;
Lewis & Clark / A Musical Tribute
Need to have a song that yours is modeled after
The song you develop must be school appropriate
It must have 3-4 verses minimum
It needs to have a chorus
All lyrics need to be typed out and turned in on the due date
You and a partner (or by yourself) will create a song that describes the historical story of Lewis and Clark and the entire Corp of Discovery. These are the requirements that will need to be followed in order to receive full credit on this assignment. The songs must include the following information;
Who sent Lewis and Clark
How did they prepare
What were their goals
Who were the important people
80 points if performed in some format
70 points max if not performed and just turned in
Who did they encounter
What did they discover
Where did they end up
What did they accomplish
DUE DATE: MONDAY FEB 11TH (A-Day) TUESDAY FEB. 12th (B-Day)
You will need to have your song prepared for class. To get full credit, your group will need to have at
least one member perform your song or play it for the class on the due date.
