Cord Breuer, Director of Bands

Mr. Cord Breuer

       Hired as the Director of Bands, Guitar and Music Theory in June of 2018, Mr. Breuer oversees the Warrior Marching Band, Music Theory, Beginning Guitar, Pep Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Combo, Varsity Jazz Band, Jazz Band II, Winter Drumline, WinterGuard and is fortunate to add a percussion ensemble that meets during the school day. Previously, Mr. Breuer was a Graduate Assistant for Dr. Joe Tornello with the Boise State University Blue Thunder Marching Band. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Boise State University and a Master of Music in Music Education from Boise State University as well. He studied trumpet with Dr. Alex Noppe, and previously with Marcellus B. Brown, Justin Stamps and Keith Weigandt. Prior to pursuing his Masters at Boise State, Cord taught at Middleton High School in Middleton, ID as the Director of Bands, Orchestra, and Guitar.
       Mr. Breuer's students have been selected for All-Northwest, All-State, All-American Marching Band, numerous honor bands, and honor marching bands. During the Summer, he is a staff member at the Boise State Summer Chamber Music Camp where he has taught music theory, trumpet techniques and brass ensembles since 2019. As a performer, Mr. Breuer plays trumpet in a weekly brass quintet and cornet in the newly formed Brass Band of the Treasure Valley where he also serves as Vice-President of its' exec. board. Mr. Breuer’s private trumpet students have placed in the All-Northwest and All-State Bands, State-Solo competitions and many have continued on to pursue music after high school.
