At Chief Joseph School of the Arts, we practice visible learning strategies to assist students in being self-directed learners. Visible learners are students who can:
- Articulate what they are learning
- Explain the next steps in their learning
- Set learning goals
- See errors as opportunities for further learning
- Know what to do when they are stuck
- Seek feedback
Chief Jo students focus on six learner qualities to help them achieve success: persevere, reflect, create, question, self-motivate, and collaborate.
Please check out the learner qualities posters below to see the language we use at school when teaching each one.
