Homework assignment: Either bring or take a picture of something personal that the student feels helps to identify who they are, where they are from/grew up, something they enjoy--something significant to them personally. I am requesting that nothing of value or is irreplacable to be brought to school (a picture will suffice if this is the case for the object that the student wants to bring)--as well as nothing that would be considered inappropriate for school or is against school regulations. These items/pictures will be used for a in class assignment on the next class day.
Day 2: Getting to Know You
Students will continue to get to know the classroom, their classmates and their teacher through a series of in class activities.
Students will complete an activity in class based on a personal artifact that they brought to class with them. They will write a paragraph explaining the significance of their artifact.
Day 3: ROCKY-Respect
Objective: Student will be able to describe their personal meaning of respect and begin their exploration of the ROCKY acronym.
Students will begin their tracking CNN 10 and SAT words on this day. This will be a two week project and will be a classwork grade when turned in.
Day 4: Rocky: O for Opportunity

Day 5 and 6: ROCKY-Commitment
