This course is designed to allow students to explore character traits and to discover the characteristics that are needed to become an effective leader. Students are given an opportunity to apply the knowledge they gain of character and leadership through the planning and implementation of community service projects. Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) activities are an integral part of this course. Membership in the student-lead FCCLA organization is a part of this course, scholarships and fundraising opportunities are available. Competition in local and national events is expected and encouraged.
