WIDA is a consortium that supports over 40 states with resources and assessments to help ensure the sucess of multilingual learners. WIDA's mission is to design the standards and assessments and also provide teaching tools, which offer instructional support to make language development and learning more effective. The ACCESS 2.0 annual assessment required by the State of Idaho is also produced by the WIDA consortium.
WIDA Language Standards
WIDA English Language Development (ELD) Standards represent the social, instructional and academic language students use to engage with peers, educators and the curriculum in schools. The standards highlight the language needed to meet academic expectations as described by state, college and career readiness standards, and other content standards such as Next Generation Science Standards.
