      • Key Learning Skills and Techniques comprise a series of elements that specify how students can take greater ownership of their learning and a set of teachable skills that enable students to learn more efficiently and effectively. 
      • Success in post-secondary education and job training programs is contingent on learners being able to learn with greater independence and efficiency.  This process begins in elementary school and prepares students to be lifelong learners. 
      • No single factor may be more important to student success than the degree to which they take ownership of their learning and are allowed to do so.
