Course Description:
Health is a semester course required for all 8th grade students. It is designed to help students make independent, informed decisions concerning their physical, mental/emotional, and social well-being.

Grades:
Graded work is submitted through Microsoft Teams and updated on PowerSchool. Grades appearing as a "0" on PowerSchool are assignments that have not been turned in. Grades are weighted based on the following categories: Classwork (30%), Projects (35%), and Assessments (35%). Please realize, regardless of the assignment "point total," grades will be automatically adjusted based on the weighted categories above. 
 
 
Personal Information:
I've been teaching at Meridian Middle School since 2001. I've taught health education, physical education, and career exploration courses. I spent 10+ years coaching middle and high school football, wrestling, basketball, track, tennis, and baseball. Not only am I passionate about teaching, my interests and hobbies include fly fishing, fly tying, camping, biking, and many others. I'm looking forward to another great year at MMS!
