Degrees and Certifications:
B.S. in Secondary Education, Mathematics (2012) M.Ed. in Educational Leadership (2017)
Welcome students, parents, and guardians! My name is Breanne Rosco and this is my eighth year as a teacher at MVHS. I graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Secondary Education from Boise State University. In 2017, I completed a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership through the University of Idaho. Currently, I am the math department lead which means my room will be off limits Wednesday mornings during collaboration. But, not to worry, there are plenty of other times you or your student can catch me (see available times below).
I have been married to my husband Brian for going on 9 years and together have a son, Luke, who we welcomed in the summer of 2017. We also have two fur-babies [a cat and a dog] who make our family whole. I am originally from Vancouver, Canada, but moved to the states when I was very young - I lived in California and Washington before eventually moving to Idaho in 2000. My childhood was an eventful one being the daughter of a hockey coach. I spent many of my adolescent years in hockey rinks thanks to my dad, my two older brothers, and my Canadian roots. I did not however play hockey myself, despite my dad’s best efforts. I settled on a sport that was played far away from the cold, a sport played under the summer sun, fast-pitch softball. I played competitively throughout my childhood and teen years but decided not to pursue it any further after high school as I wanted to focus on my schooling. These days I have found my way back to softball playing slow-pitch on the weekends and throughout the summer evenings.
I wasn't always aware that I wanted to be an educator, but I have always had a huge passion for serving and helping others. If I’m being honest, it was while attending a Communication 101 class at BSU that something clicked listening to a peer's persuasive speech on "Why You Should Become a Teacher." That week, after discussing my feelings with my parents, I changed my major to secondary education and have never looked back. Since attending my first education class, it was evident that my passion for teaching and learning, and for mathematics, would be best utilized as a teacher. I really hope that my passion comes out and inspires your child to appreciate the beauty and art of mathematics. These days, math has become a lost art form since it's mandatory for graduation - it really gets a bad rep. But, I promise, if your child can keep an open mind, they too can learn to see its beauty.
I am generally pretty available to students for help outside of class. If your student needs to find me outside of classtime, generally they can find me in my room (room 315) during the following hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday – MAV Time (7:15 – 7:35)
Monday, Wednesday, Friday – Lunch time (roughly 11:00 – 11:30)
**Tuesday and Thursday - Lunch time (BY APPOINTMENT ONLY)**
Monday – Thursday – After school (2:45 – 3:15)
If you should ever need to reach me, for any reason at all, email is the easiest way, Rosco.Breanne@WestAda.org. I am very excited to meet and get to know you and your children this coming school year!
