K-5 Literacy Textbook Adoption - Parent Participation Requested

Per Policy 602.30 (revised and adopted Sept 26, 2022), the Academic Leadership Team is developing a timeline for a proposed K-5 Literacy Textbook Adoption with the goal of new curricular materials to be used starting Fall of 2023.  As part of this process, an adoption committee will be developed to evaluate potential elementary literacy resources. This committee will select a resource and a recommendation will be made to the Board of Trustees.  The committee will be comprised of parent/guardian representatives and school staff representatives. Parents/guardians from each zone will be selected to participate on this committee. 

NOTE: Committee members must be able to attend all committee meetings listed below:
Committee meetings will be held from 4:30pm – 6:30pm at the District Service Center on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, October 25th (Rubric review and Science of Reading and Writing)

  • Tuesday, November 1st (Review two curricular material options)

  • Tuesday, November 8th (Review two curricular material options)

  • Tuesday, November 29th (Determine top two curricular material choices)

    • Top 2 choices will be on display for public review December 5th-19th.

  • Tuesday, December 6th (Finalist 1 presentation)

  • Tuesday, December 13th (Finalist 2 presentation)

  • Tuesday, January 10th (Make final decision on curricular materials to recommend to the board)
