Accelerated Reader (AR Quizzes)

From Mrs. Goss, Librarian

  • Chaparral Parents and Students:

As your Librarian, I am excited to provide some supplemental resources for you to use at home. Many of our students are already familiar with several of these resources. Nothing that we point you to is required. We just want you to know what is already available. These resources can be accessed by any electronic device. Click HERE for a link to the WestAda library page. All login information is provided under Library resources

LilI or “Libraries Linking Idaho” is proving temporary access to Tumblebooks reading. This is brought to us by the Idaho Commission for Libraries. Our kids love tumblebooks, so just explore it and you will find some wonderful treasures in the audiobook categories, as well as ebooks. There are even graphic novels here. You can find grade levels in the index within Tumblebooks. Be sure to check out the collection of Lightbox books being provided to us by our primary book vendor, Follett. These are interactive and engaging.

You will see a link for Sora on this page. Access to Sora has been taught to our grades 3-5, but it contains books that are appropriate for all levels and includes some of your kid's favorites. Students log in with their school login and password. This is the same information they use for computer lab. Within this first page is also a header that reads, “resources by grade level” and under that, you will see a box that has grades 1-5. Click on that and you will see www.storylineonline.net for all ages and ABDO zoom for grades K-2.

Next level is to click on our school or go directly to our school website and find the Library page. You will see our Library catalog. We have electronic books that are available for your children to read. Students login with the same information as Sora. You will also see all the research databases that are available if you have a kiddo who likes to explore the world. The key is just to have fun, enjoy the resources available and keep reading!

We miss our kids and look forward to seeing your faces again.
