Football, volleyball, and cross country athletes need to get their washed and clean uniforms to their coaches as soon as possible to avoid fines.

8th Grade Girls Basketball will begin on Monday, 10/26 right after school in the Hoyle Gym. Paperwork may be picked up from Coach Swanson in room 20 or Coach McGerty in room 28. Please have the participation forms, concussion acknowledgement form, and parent pledge filled out and signed and return it to Coach Swanson as soon as possible but no later than Friday, 10/23. Information and paperwork is also available on the "LSMS 8th Grade Girls Basketball" page by clicking on the "Athletics" tab above and then clicking on the "LSMS 8th Grade Girls Basketball" link. Due to Central District Health putting us back into category red, we are reducing the number of participants to no more than 2 teams of 12 for 24 athletes total. Tryouts will determine those teams and cuts will need to be made to keep our numbers low for the health and safety of our student-athletes and coaches.

Due to COVID safety measures, the middle school wrestling season has been moved to the spring. Wrestling practice is scheduled to begin on Monday March 1, 2021. More information will be coming as we get closer to the season.

Please see the COVID 19 Information link to the left to access the LSMS building plan and responsibilities, the procedural plan and expectations for competitions, and a parent letter from the district.

Now that we know our seasons are continuing, fees will need to be paid for our student-athletes so we can assign uniforms and not affect their participation. All athletes must pay a $90 athletic fee for each player for the season. They must also purchase an activity card for $22.26. The activity card is a one time fee for the entire year. These fees may either be paid online at myschoolfees.com. You can also find a link to the site at the bottom of the LSMS website main page. There is a 4% fee to use this service. You may also pay our book keeper by going to the main entrance to the building any time between the hours of 7:45 am and 3:45 pm. Please wear a mask. Coaches will not take these payments and will direct athletes to use one of the above methods to pay. Uniforms will not be assigned to players until payment has been made.

In order to make distancing easier and lower risk, we’re asking parents to transport athletes to away competitions if that’s possible. If you are able to take your athlete to games at other schools, please email your athlete's coach. You can find the emails of the coaches below to let them know so they won’t be waiting for players. If you’re unable to transport your own player, a bus will be available and will have the following procedures:

    • Masks must be worn by everyone on the bus

    • Sanitizer will be used before entering the bus

    • All windows will be open when possible

Please see the Game Attendance section below for attendance policies.

    • Green Category: The total number of all bodies in the building shall be no more than 28 percent of the facility’s maximum capacity.
    • Yellow CategoryParticipants; coaches; essential personnel including game officials, medical staff, event staff and security; and parents.
