Degrees and Certifications:

Dr. Michelle Farrell

This is my nineteenth year in education. While working on my Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics I was an AVID tutor for two years where I learned a variety of instructional best practices and how to help students become advocates for their own education. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics in 2002 followed immediately by my Master’s in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction in 2004. I taught Mathematics for twelve years and have taught all levels of Mathematics including 5 years teaching IB. In 2014 I earned my Doctorate in Education with an emphasis in Educational Leadership.

I had the amazing opportunity to teach Mathematics at Renaissance for the 2014-15 school year, before accepting a position as the West Ada School District Coordinator of Advanced Opportunities. In 2017 the district began implementing the AVID program and I had the opportunity to serve as the coordinator of Advanced Opportunities as well as the AVID District Director. I served as an Assistant Principal at Mountain View High School for the 2019-20 school year. I am excited to return to Renaissance High School as the IB Coordinator.

I look forward to working with an amazing group of students and educators!
