    October 5, 2020

Dear RHS Senior Students and Families,

Renaissance High School is pleased to announce October 2020 as College Application Month (CAM)! The overarching goal of College Application Month is to provide an opportunity for all Idaho seniors to complete and file college applications. To us, college means any education program beyond high school including certificate programs, two-year degree programs, and four-year degree programs.

In the past, CAM was held for one week and was completed during the school days through Senior TOK/PPS classes. Due to the constraints of the current situation, we have decided to hold CAM throughout October, so students have more opportunities for assistance since we are unable to present to them physically through classes.

Renaissance High School will participate in Idaho’s College Application Month virtually from October 12th through October 30th.  Senior students will be added to a “Class of 2021 Career College Information” Microsoft Team by Friday, October 9th where valuable information, resources, presentations, and videos will be provided to students.

The following are types of information that will be provided in the Microsoft Team for students.  This information will also be provided on the RHS Counseling website under College Application Month 2020 for parent access after October 9th.

    • Much More!

In addition to virtual information, students will have the opportunity to sign up for in person assistance with counselors.  Seniors will be able to sign up for CAM help sessions to assist with college applications, scholarship research, financial aid questions, and much more.

CAM help sessions will be held in the library and spots will be limited to 10-15 students per sign up for social distancing purposes. CAM help sessions will be held throughout the month of October.  Students will receive a link to sign up for the help sessions on Friday, October 9th.

Students who prefer to meet virtually will also be able to book an appointment for a virtual CAM help session. Students should email Mrs. Schneider (schneider.tammy@westada.org) to schedule those virtual appointments.

RHS’s goal is to provide assistance to all students during the college application process and post-secondary planning. Students are encouraged to schedule a help session so that we may assist them with their many questions.

If you have any further questions, please email me at schneider.tammy@westada.org. You can also find more information about the CAM initiative online at http://www.gotocollege.idaho.gov/ . Thank you in advance for your support of this exciting initiative to encourage Idaho’s students to make college a part of their future.
