Mr. Shayne Seubert

I was born and raised in Lewiston, ID.  While growing up, I was very involved in all things music and science!  Once I had graduated from Lewiston High School, I moved to Moscow, ID and attended the University of Idaho.  While there, I was fortunate to be able to work for Dr. Jason W. Barnes.  As an undergraduate research assistant, I used data from the Kepler Space Telescope to detect and characterize transiting extra-solar planets.  I also was able to publish two papers.  If you are interested, you can find them here: Spin-Orbit Alignment For 110-Day Period KOI-368.01 From Gravity Darkening and Probable Spin-Orbit Aligned Super-Earth Candidate KOI-2138.01.  Dr. Barnes is now Deputy Principle Investigator of NASA's Dragonfly mission.  For more information, please go here!

I graduated in 2016 with Bachelors in both Physics and Mathematics and a minor in music (percussion studies).  I then went and worked as a physics and math teacher at Emmett High School for 5 years.  While working as a physics and math teacher, I attended the University of Idaho virtually and earned my Masters in Education: Curriculum and Instruction in 2020.
