Welcome to 2nd Grade at Seven Oaks Elementary!
This will be my seventh full year of teaching. I taught 5th grade in Oregon for four years, 3rd grade in Star for two years, and for the last nine years I have stayed home with my own children. Last year I taught small reading groups as a part-time Extended Reading Intervention teacher here at Seven Oaks, and this year I am so excited to be back as a second grade teacher!
Why I Love Teaching
I can’t think of a more fulfilling job than teaching. Every day, I get to help children stretch their imaginations, discover new things, and take steps toward the future. My students always surprise me with their insight, and they can always bring a smile to my face!
A Little More About Me
I grew up in Mountain Home and have lived in Idaho almost my entire life. I went to college at the University of Oregon and taught in Eugene for four years after graduating. My husband and I then returned to Idaho and now we have three awesome kids who also go to Seven Oaks. Hadley will be in third grade and Jack and Molly will be starting kindergarten. We also have a mischevious dog, Franklin, who would like to come to school, but instead stays home and eats pillows and socks and anything he can get his paws on.
In my free time I love to hike, ski, travel, and spend time with my family. My favorite hobbies are reading and writing, and I hope I can pass that on to my second graders!
Check back here later for more class information, links, and weekly newsletters. If you ever have any questions or concerns, feel free to call or email anytime.
We have a great year ahead of us!
