Degrees and Certifications:
I love working with students and being in a career where I know I can make a difference! Overall, I want students to feel empowered, understand their worth, and be confident in the skills that they build and attain at school.
Since I was a child, I always knew that I wanted to do something in education. In high school I was given the opportunity to volunteer in elementary classrooms and after that I knew I wanted to be a teacher! I received my bachelor’s degree and my teaching credential from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. During that time, I traveled abroad and taught English in South Korea. After graduating, I moved to California where I taught both first and second grade for four years. Throughout that time, I also went back to school online and received my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University. Throughout my educational career I have always had a great interest in reading! I am so happy to now have a focus on reading and am excited to be Summerwind’s K/1 Reading Interventionist.
Outside of teaching there are many things I love to do! I enjoy spending a lot of time with my friends and family. I love to read, cook, go to cycle and exercise classes, explore new places, and travel! I love to experience new things and learn new skills. I enjoy crafting and making things for my home.
