Degrees and Certifications:
I believe every student deserves a quality education that prepares them to be citizens of the 21st century. All students should feel empowered and supported to accomplish their dreams and aspirations. I want my students to feel welcomed and supported when they enter my classroom. I want our classroom to be a “Home Away, From Home”. Together we are a family working together to be the best 4th graders we can be in a classroom where we feel welcomed and supported.
I’m a California native. I grew up in a tiny farming town in the Central Valley. I’m no stranger to the farm life. I am the oldest of six children and have a large extended family. I graduated from California State University, Fresno with a Bachelors in Liberal Arts. After graduation, I began the Teaching Credential Program at Fresno State. I completed my student teaching in rural public schools around the Central Valley. After I completed the credential program, I said to “good-bye” to the country life and moved to Boise, Idaho. I began my teaching career at St. Mark’s Catholic School. It was there I met my husband. Two years down the road we got married. We have one son together and two dogs: Lola and Sheldon. My husband and I share a passion for teaching. He is a PE and Health teacher. We love Boise.
Growing up in the Central Valley, I was close enough to beach that I would visit often. Some of my favorite memories happened on our annual family camping trips to the beach. I am a book worm. I am always reading; my favorite genre is historical fiction. I also enjoy baking. My favorite thing to bake is cookies! I am firm believer in trying new things at least once. I love adventures and traveling. In the next five years, I hope to sky-dive and ride in a hot air balloon. I also hope to visit some extended family in Paris sometime in the next ten years. My husband and I love to take our son to National Parks, Zoos, and Aquariums. My son’s favorite thing to do is visit my family’s goat farm in California.
