Mrs. Sylvie Carbajal
Hello Desert Sage students and families,
I am very excited to be joining the Desert Sage community as your new Assistant Principal!
This will be my 21st year in public education, seventeen of which have been as a classroom teacher. I have taught Italian, EL, and Spanish at both the middle school and high school levels. I have most recently worked as an assistant principal at two other elementary schools in West Ada. This year will mark my 4th year of serving students, parents, and staff in an administrative capacity.
I was born in southern France to a Mexican mother and a French father. My parents immigrated to the states when I was a toddler and raised me in San Francisco. My multicultural and multilingual upbringing influenced my continuous curiosity and appreciation of other cultures.
I have been married for 20 years and I have two sons. I enjoy cooking, gardening, dancing, playing board games, and traveling.
I am looking forward to getting to know all of our families, and learning and growing together. It’s going to be a great year!
