I love working with students, staff, and families to create a positive and empowering learning community for all. After over 20 years in education, I am still excited about coming to school every single day because I love learning and I want our students to love learning too.
After graduating from Regis College in Colorado, I completed a year of volunteer work and fell in love with teaching. I went back to school and received a Master's in Teaching from the University of Portland, Oregon. I began my teaching career in the West Ada School District in 1993. Over the years, I have taught K, 1st, 2nd, and 4th Grade as well as being a Gifted and Talented Facilitator. After many years in the classroom, I knew I wanted to impact student learning in a different way, so I went back to school (again!) and completed my Educational Specialist Degree. Previously, I was an Assistant Principal at Meridian Middle School for 4 years and came to serve at Summerwind STEM Academy in fall of 2020. I feel lucky to work every day with the best students and staff in the district.
Originally from New York, I grew up all over the country. I landed in Idaho in 1993 and it has been my home ever since. I am the proud mom of four amazing daughters who have also grown up in the West Ada School District. My husband, David, and I love the outdoors (especially the mountains), working on our house and spending as much time as we can with the girls. Family is everything to me. When I am not at school, you'll find me reading, baking, traveling, crocheting and then reading some more!
