Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Katie Hodson

The expression, “All roads lead back home,” relates very much to me and my journey back to Meridian High School. Hello! My name is Katie Hodson. I was born in Boise and raised on Idaho’s fresh air and spuds. I love my state and have been fortunate enough to explore the world and confirm that Idaho is the best place to be. I earned my BA in Education and Social Studies from Boise State University in 2008. Go Broncos! After graduation, I moved with my husband to Washington, DC. I was able to work in both Washington, DC, and Virginia school districts. The culture and access to so many pivotal historic landmarks shaped my history curriculum. I was also fortunate to attend Trinity University DC where I obtained my master’s in education administration.  We cherish our experiences and time there.

When my first son was born, we decided that it was time to move back to the greatest state in the union. Idaho. Since then, we have welcomed our second son and grown our family farm with a variety of interesting animals. I have had the opportunity to work in middle schools in the area. However, roads always seem to lead back home…and I could not pass up the opportunity to work in at the same school that I did my student teaching, Meridian High School. I am excited to be here. It is truly a full circle. I love teaching history, and I strive to make a generation of thinkers. My hope is that my students will enter the world with a solid knowledge of history and apply it to how they view current events. We are living in a remarkable time, and it brings me so much joy to foster passionate critical thinking within the West Ada students. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.
