• FAQs About Missing School:

    • I don't feel well, what should I do? Utilize the symptom/illness flow chart. If needed, stay home. Call ASAP and connect with the school attendance office to update your attendance code to ILL.
    • I feel overwhelmed, can I just stay at home and do school online? No. Attending school is a requirement in order to earn credit for the course. Your attendance will be coded with an A for absent if you miss, and PRC if you miss and your parent calls in. Students who miss more than 3 days of class will lose credit in the course according to district attendance policy. (Even if you complete the assignments for that day, you will be marked absent if you are not physically present in the class).
    • I was exposed to COVID outside of school, what do I do? Stay home. Read through the quarantine guidelines for community/home exposure. Call and connect with the school nurse and the attendance office ASAP so the attendance code can be updated to ILL.
    • I was exposed to COVID at school, what do I do? Follow the directions provided in the letter emailed home on how to quarantine properly. If you do not see the letter, stay home, call and connect with the school nurse and the attendance office to figure out what type of quarantining is required. If at home quarantining is required, your attendance code will be updated to ISO. Read through the quarantine guidelines for community/home exposure.
    • What if I am quarantined but my attendance mark does not say ISO or ILL? Call and connect with the attendance office ASAP so the attendance code can be updated.
    • If I have an ISO/ILL attendance code and have to stay home, how do I stay caught up? Log in for the live Microsoft Teams sessions following the bell schedule. Log in at the beginning of each class and wait for the teacher to let you in from the lobby AND access materials on teams independently to complete the assignments as you wait for the teacher response.
    • What if the teacher is not hosting a meeting or does not let me into the lobby? Email your teacher (click here for teacher contact information) immediately to let them know you were trying to get in the meeting, AND access materials on teams independently to complete the assignments as you wait for the teacher response.
    • What if my technology is not working fully? Email your teacher immediately (click here for teacher contact information) to let them know AND access the materials you can on teams independently to complete the assignments as you wait for the teacher response.
    • What if I don't fully understand the assignment found on teams? Email your teacher immediately (click here for teacher contact information) to ask questions, AND access materials on teams independently to complete as much of the assignments as possible as you wait for the teacher response.
    • If I am absent (A) or my parent called me out (PRC), how do I stay caught up? 1. Make sure you attend school in person- it is required and extremely pertinent for success in the course. More than 3 absences will result in a loss of credit for the course (district attendance policy. ). 2. Access materials on teams independently to complete the assignments missed. (Completion of materials will not change the attendance code) 3. Kindly connect with your teacher to confirm you completed everything missed. Reach out to your teacher by email (click here for teacher contact information) if you are still absent. If you are back on campus, go see your teacher in person during intervention times before or after school (bell schedule).
    • What if my teacher puts in a zero for an assignment I missed while I was gone? Remember, your grade is a work in progress. Kindly connect with your teacher to problem solve how to fix it. Reach out to your teacher by email (click here for teacher contact information) if you are still absent to seek clarification. If you are back on campus, go see your teacher in person during intervention times before or after school (bell schedule) to seek clarification.
