Mr. Black (Coach)
I grew up in a small town 20 miles south of Sacramento, Galt, CA. After serving 2 years on a church mission in Baltimore, Maryland, I came to Idaho in 1999 to attend school/play football at Rick's College, now BYU-Idaho. I loved it here so much, that after graduation in 2004, I decided Idaho was my home and accepted my first job here in Meridian! I have officially lived in Idaho longer than California. ;-)
I have a passion for teaching, Physical Education, Health, and most of all my students. Students are the best part of my job and why I became a teacher.
I strive to be a good example to my students by working towards living a happy, healthy, and active lifestyle, I love to help and encourage others to do the same. I am currently working on earning a Masters Degree in Counseling and interning as a clinical counselor.
My daily goal is to get students moving and help them to develop a love for physical activities that will last for the rest of their lives.
I love spending quality time with my family and friends, eating yummy food, going to the movies, hiking, kyaking, swimming, working in my yard, lifting weights, reading a book, and of course playing with my kids.
Fitness is a huge passion of mine! I have worked as a personal trainer, a professional fitness athlete for Axis Labs and I worked on various projects with Bodybuilding.com. My claim to fame, ;-) I appeared on their TV commercial during the Rose Bowl and Mr. Olympia. I have also competed as a classic physique athlete.
Last but not least, the most important thing to me, my family! They are my pride and joy.
I have four sons and one daughter. Kael, Jett, Jake, Jaxyn, and Kameron and one Olde English Bulldog Piper who also acts as a therapy dog to those who have dealt with trauma.
