Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Sameeta Sahni
I am your child’s 2nd grade teacher, and I am delighted to have your child in my class this year. I am looking forward to a very successful year and I know you are too. I have high expectations for your child, and I will do all that I can to help your child achieve those expectations.
Second grade is an exciting and challenging year. With your help, we can be partners in your child’s education. My goal is to ensure your child feels at home in our classroom. I have made our classroom a comfortable and welcoming place that will facilitate a safe and secure feeling to encourage academic success.
This is my 11th year as a teacher- I have taught 5 years in kindergarten and 5 years in 2nd grade. I have three sons who have been students here at Chief Joseph Elementary – a long time ago. Two of my sons still live with me – which I actually(secretly) enjoy. But I also look forward to becoming an Empty Nester, as soon as possible. I love travelling, enjoy reading, and watching movies. This summer I travelled to the east coast and stayed in NYC for three days in Times Square – this has been for a longtime on my “to-do” list.
I have always found parents to be supportive of good classroom behavior to ensure that their child receives a quality education. Please read “Mrs. Sahni’s 2nd Grade Class Information” packet and keep this for the rest of the year for quick and easy reference. This will explain my classroom management strategies, as well as other classroom policies. In order for learning to take place, children must conduct themselves in a manner which allows me to teach and everyone to learn.
Finally, I want you to know that one of my most important goals this year is to keep the lines of communication open with you. Please let me know if you feel your child is experiencing academic, social, physical, or emotional needs which are not being met.
I am available every day to talk with you between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m.(by appointment). Please don’t hesitate to contact me at 208-350-4200 or Sahni.firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or concerns during the year.
