    • Last week discussed placement for next year's classes.  We use data and learning style information to determine placements.  There will most likely be a handful of changes throughout the summer so class placement won't be announced until later in the summer.

    Collaboration Update - 
    • Last week we discussed math through the end of the year.  Days are numbered and we needed be sure we would have time to finish the last two math modules.  We also decided on common scoring for the end of Module 4 asssessment.  Data will be collected and discussed when all students have completed the test.

    Collaboration Update - 
    • This week the team discussed changes to the math curriculum.  Updates are being made throughout the year to better fit the needs of students and teachers.  We also discussed what we are doing to ensure our students are working toward being college and career ready.  It may seem a bit early in first grade but each of us plays a role for the future success of our children.

    • This week the first grade team reviewed our leveled reading groups.  So many students have been reading above grade level that we decided to create a second advanced group!  These groups read more advanced materials.  There is a focus on digging deeper into text for increased comprehension.  The new reading group will begin next week.

    • This week the first grade team analyzed and discussed the end of module assessment for measurement.  We discussed the validity of each problem and how to score the assessment.  We also, looked into module 4.  We discussed pacing of the lessons as well as common assessments for mid module and end of module.
